I’m learning about this blogging “shared topic” thing and I saw this one from Lazy Sniper (from Oath‘s post here) that caught my attention (which I summarize below):
Have you ever been out and about and overheard someone talking about Wow, or someone overheard you and butted in?
Oh yes.
I’m at the grocery store describing to my friend who had quit playing wow a few months earlier that big dramatic dragon cut scene in the long quest in Dragonblight… and commenting on how we can suddenly understand the orcs speaking ENGLISH, and this lady pushing her cart behind me busts in with:
“I know… what the fuck, right? All the time those assholes are like ‘kek kek kek’ and now I can understand them!”
I froze. Completely. I should have reveled, yay, woot, another gamer, and a girl at that… but I froze, outed in my geekery. I smiled, nodded, “YEAH I KNOW!” and then got the hell out of there.
I’m an idiot.
