Politeness – The Final Word — 11 Comments

    • Well what you’d say to guildies versus what you’d say out and about in general are totally different things.

I have an example from last night. ¬†We were doing Gundrak, and debating doing Eck. ¬†Pally doesn’t realize and jumps already. ¬†We’re halfway to Eck before we realize that he’s not there.

“Sorry guys. ¬†I didn’t realize you were going to Eck and I jumped already. ¬†Then I went afk to take a piss lol!”

      Let us analyze, shall we:

Part 1 of the sentence: “Sorry guys. ¬†I didn’t realize you were going to Eck and I jumped already.” ¬†Meets all criteria. ¬†This is something you should say in a pug.

Part 2:¬†¬†“Then I went afk to take a piss lol!” ¬†NO! ¬†BAD! ¬†This fails the flow chart on multiple levels.

  1. Back in college we used to tease one of my friends.¬† Before he was allowed to say anything, he had to answer “yes” to 3 questions:
    1) Is what I’m about to say relevant to the conversation?
    2) Does it have a point?
    3) Will anyone care?
