What on earth is that crazy Zel talking about now?

Healing has a rhythm.  I think of Shaman healing like a waltz (Proc tidal waves, consume consume, PROC, consume consume.)  But what is Holy Priesting? Duck duck goose!

Duck (Flash Heal)…

Duck (Flash Heal)…

GOOSE! (Greater heal, hasted by the 2 Serendipity stacks you just put up)

If you can’t get your tank back to manageable health with one “duck duck goose”, you’re probably hosed.

Duck Duck GOOSE! — 10 Comments

  1. Oh boy, now I’m going to have “Once Upon A Dream” stuck in my head every time I start the Tidal Waltz.

    • Oh this is an emergency measure. Should not be done all the time. Essentially, if the tank is at low health and dropping fast, heal isn’t gonna cut it. I’ll do a “duck duck goose” and that should restore the majority of the health in… 3? 4? seconds. After that, I can slow down again with heal, renew, pom etc. Sometimes I’ll just do a single “duck-goose” and that will be enough.

  2. This post made me chortle, Zel. Thank you. :)

Interestingly, the same applies to Holy Paladins when a tank is in trouble. Flash of Light, Flash of Light to stabilize them and then a Divine Light to top them off. At least I always have Lay on Hands in my back pocket for when this doesn’t work. In that case it would be Duck? Duck? Goose? SWAN!

  3. The shaman version of duck-duck-goose is Riptide-Unleash-GreaterHealingWave! It doesn’t have the same ring to it though, does it?

    Or maybe Riptide + OHSHITMACRO (/use 13 /use 14 /cast Nature’s Swiftness /cast Greater Healing Wave)

    • Funny, because the more I listen to Rhii, I’m convinced I should be a shaman.

“Oh, I’ve healed that on heroic a lot of times.”

“I must have too much spirit because I have buckets of mana.”

There are shenanigans going on, I tell you.
