When you’re gaming, it’s seriously important to have the right drinking equipment.  After all, you don’t want to SPILL, do you?

I present to you the adult sippy cup:

This is the one I use, but there are a bunch of similar ones on the market.  Key features include:

  • Insulation.  This is good for not just keeping your drinks cold, but for preventing condensation from forming and dribbling all over your desk (or onto your keyboard!  The horror!)
  • Straw structural integrity.  This bad boy can be used for milkshakes.   Milkshakes while raiding rule. Sissy straws that get bent by an overactive chewer (admit it, you CHEW) are fail.
  • Lid security.  A screw on lid is nice. A pop-on lid is asking for trouble.

The adult sippy cup: Twig tested, gamer approved!

  1. This seems just a little too pointed!

I mean, uh, I am super coordinated and stuff. No idea what sort of clutz would need a thing like this.

    • Actually I had this written days ago. But I did publish it TODAY because it made me think of you.

And yes, I use this. Twig uses it too. For milkshakes. NOMS.

  2. I actually have one of these but it’s set aside for my special DRINKING cup. Which, sadly, means I rarely use it. Maybe I should make it my computer cup, thanks for the great idea!

  3. Hmm… judging from the design, can I assume this sippy cup is also made to fit into car cup holders? If so, this may be the ultimate answer to both game time and road trip spillage! (GTRTS affects over 25 people each year, please donate to help get sippy cups to all two dozen-ish of these unfortunate souls)

    • It’s about the right size for that. It’s not completely airtight on the top around the straw. If you turn it upside down, it will spill right out.

  4. I’ve always found the proper drinking vessel for me while gaming was whatever bottle my beer came in and I have had few to no issues with it. Perhaps the problem wasn’t with the drinking vessel, but with the person using it…

  5. I have this great cup my father in law bought for me at Bed Bath and Beyond that I like to use when I am at my desk. Sadly, there is no straw, as the lid is kinda like a take out coffee cup lid. But it is well sealed and insulated, and it has a cool looking sunflower in between the layers :)

I am bad about dumping things in my keyboard. Chips, salsa, soda ( i use a can more often than my cool cup). Think it is high time that I started using that cup.
